What started as a simple curiosity in the fall of 2024 — when I picked up a Philips Pasta Maker — has pretty much turned into a full-on pasta obsession. Since then i’ve spent a lot of time making fresh pasta right here in Roebling, trying to perfect all the classics: penne all’arrabbiata, spaghetti alla puttanesca, aglio e olio, and a bunch more.
There’s something addictive about turning flour, eggs, and water into something golden and alive — pasta that you can share with friends or drop off to someone who just needs a good meal. I mostly stick to traditional Italian recipes, always reaching for good imported semola and those DOP San Marzano tomatoes when I can find them.
The name Golden Threads Pasta Co. ties it all together — a nod to both the golden strands of pasta and to Roebling’s history, where steel “threads” helped build the Brooklyn and Golden Gate Bridges.
As Fellini said, “Life is a combination of magic and pasta.”
