Yesterday was my 39th birthday. I’m so lucky to know so many people.
I actually finished the day with 230 birthday messages. Not included a few before and a few after.
Thank you everyone!!!
Athlete. Artist. Agnostic. Humanist. Skeptic. Unfinished.
Today is my 39th birthday. If anyone wants to buy me a present check out my Amazon wishlist. Thank you in advance. Oh and I love you!
Yesterday I was in Litiz, PA and I visited John Beck Elementary School. Some day I will have my own university. I have to start somewhere.
Not entirely happy with my 5k today. Was hoping for under 23 minutes but my official time was 23:07, 131st of 771 runners. A few months ago I suffered an MCL injury and this is only my second race since the injury (the other being last week). I guess I should be happy that I didn’t further injure it even though there is slight soreness. Here’s the digital certificate:
However, all runners were allowed free access to the beach after the race. I took advantage of that and a beautiful day to enjoy my lunch by the sea.
In the very beginning of Andy Kaufman Plays Carnegie Hall (1979) he said that he always told his grandmother that someday he will perform live at Carnegie Hall and when he does he will give her the best seat in the house. Before the show started he introduced his grandmother and told that story. She then took a seat on the actual stage and didn’t say a word but watched the entire show. The show consisted of his usual routines, Elvis impersonation, wrestling, Tony Clifton, etc. as well as a number of special guests. After the 2 hour show was over Andy began to thank all of his guests for performing and then he thanked his grandmother, Robin Williams. Robin Williams sat on the stage dressed as an old lady for the entire performance and not a single person at Carnegie Hall knew that. It was absolutely amazing. RIP Robin Wiliams. I hope that this is another one of Andy’s pranks. 🙁

The Hungarian artist has developed a characteristic – photo-based, computer-inspired – compositional principle that reflects the existential struggle of the person who is seeking for order in the fragmentized reality. His painted art is a unique (self-) therapy practice: a trauma loaded past, the dreamlike rereading of the subjective memory. A recurring theme in Endre Kis’s work is the Balkan war; from this cataclysm he reveals either the break-up of family ties or the post-traumatic symptoms of the falling apart of the ex -Yugoslav community as it was experienced as a child, interspersed by stylistic quotation primarily taken from the German expressionism, or occasionally from pop art. This pseudo-reality denotes at the same time the reference framework for his own worldview: the artist conveys his self-portraits a temporary identity when he uses the emblematic portrait works known from the history of art as a kind of mask or layer to overwrite his own self-portrait. In the Roadkill series the artist examines the negative impact of the human civilization from his own perspective. The compositions built on the combination of three symbolic motives (natural environment, concrete and the animals falling prey in between) deal with the tragic side of the human development.

Just installed WordPress on my server and am now using it as my blog instead of RapidWeaver. I was surprised how easy it was to import the old blog. I just imported the RSS feed. I lost my theme and I’m sure links to the RapidWeaver blog are no longer functional but so far it looks like it works! Great!
