In a world without humans, elephants rule. In this world elephants have all human traits. They have the ability to watch movies, go out on dates, play video games and pretty much anything that requires the use of thumbs, much like humans. Elephantimes is the premier online lifestyle magazine for elephants by elephants, as GQ is for humans.

John Beck

John Beck is the creator of Elephantimes. John is a senior general fine arts student at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). His interests lie in video, conceptual and performance art. He is known for bringing his own unique comedic element into his work. Elephantimes is the first project created for Jason Sloan's Interactive Media 1 course at MICA.

The idea behind Elephantimes came to John the morning that the assignment was given to him. On his walk to school, a family of elephants were walking down Mt. Royal Ave. This family seemed oblivious to the fact that everyone in the area was just staring at them out of wonder. This family of elephants just kept on walking down the street as if nothing happened. The oddest part was that they were not normal elephants. These elephants had on clothing and it looked as if they were shopping.

I wish I could say that was the oddest thing I've seen here at MICA. I wish. I wish.
